probably be really expensive to fix. Go to pep boys and see if you can get pads, rotors, calipers and see how much a brake job would be, you may not like the idea too much

My plan was to be one of the few if not first on this forum to have a hmt set up on an old bimmer, i saw one at the kent races a while back and it was pretty dam fast.

I was thinking about a mid 80's 3 series but it's just too much for parts and I remembered when I had my 85 528 and the electrical nightmares I had. You can buy it then just swap a SR20det into it but even still the susp part and everything else are bank compared to a plain jane honda or something less exotic.

I luv the dorky styling, just not the repair bills. You know you can't just go down to AutoZone and pck up an oil filter on any given day!

These cars are actually not that great for boost, stock that is. It handles around 12psi max. E30 BMW is the most reliable 3-series bimmer so quit bitching how they always break, whoever said that is a fucktard. Repairs are more expensive than Japanese car, but not by much, you can find the cheap parts for it.
Car handles very good, and accepts any non v12 bmw engine. If you want to upgrade the rear end you can get either a M3 VLSD or Z3 Vlsd. They share the entire subframe with Z3s.
And I think these cars look ------- nice.

The M3 lsd is the cheapest if you want more traction, of course you can pay $1000 for a clutch type. Or just weld the diff.

if you want a LSD, ive got a 3.73 out of a 325IS that worked great with the 86 325e turbo I built a few years back.

Ill throw up pics of the install we did. It was a fun car with lots of torque. At 10psi it was a crazy car.

if you decide to go with it, you will enjoy it, but i agree with everyone in saying the repair bills suck

It was my buddies car, but my turbo project.

never got a chance to tune the thing, it was written off about 2 months after finishing it.

get the sr20 mount kit n run either an sr or a ka. if it brakes u can fix it cheaper then fixin the bmw motor =x

This only gonna be my daily driver then im gonna pick up an eg shell for a full out race car so that if anything breaks on it then i got no worries about getting a ride anywhere.
