Another PayPal question.
Awhile back I sold Xbox 360 on eBay. I listed it as new, but opened box. Everything was there still in factory packaging. Well the guy gets it and bitches about it being opened and immediately opened a Pay Pal claim. This of course pulled the trigger that fucked my Pay Pal account up. Next day do to "suspicious activity" my eBay account was suspended (hrmmm what a coincidence). Well I was like WTF ever, just send me the package back and I will issue you a refund.
Package shows up about a week later. I was out of town so they delievered it at the front office of our apartment. A few days later someone leaves it inside the door when we are gone. I open the box up and I notice the case has been opened, as in the security stickers broken making it jack ----. I don't say anything to the guy or Pay Pal. I call up Pay Pal and don't give them any of my info. I just keep saying I have a general question. I asked the guy what if I offer a return on a item, but when I get it it is broken making it useless. He says at that point it would become a legal matter and out of Pay Pal's hands. I would have to go through a small claims court. So now I am sitting here with the guys money, a worthless Xbox 360, and not wanting to take one up the ass. I decide just to say I didn't get it (since I didn't sign for it). Well they guy issues a charge back on his credit card and I get this email from Pay Pal: "The buyer in the transaction below has chosen to file a chargeback with his card issuer. Because you have already won the claim for this transaction in the PayPal Resolution Center, PayPal will deal directly with the card issuer for you during their investigation of the chargeback and will cover all costs involved. We do this because we feel that our buyers and sellers are best served by our impartial buyer complaint process in the PayPal Resolution Center rather than by being subjected to multiple investigations into the same transaction." The thing is he elected to close the Pay Pal claim, so he can't open another one. So does it sound like they will cover the cost of the item? I asked the people at the apartment office and they said they get so many packages they don't remember who they sign them for. So they have no idea what's going on either. Cliffs: Some dick is trying to jack me out of money on a gimped up 360 he sent me. (read Pay Pal quote) What should I do? |
