am i ready for turbo ?

i dont know if i have everthing to boost so i need some help to see if i got everthing . so far this is what i have or is on the way :
t3 turbo,hf mani, smic, fpr, fmu, misc charge pipes. im only trying to boost 6lbs at the most. i know i need oil feed and discharge pipes anything else ? thanks for the help if everything comes together i will boost by next weekend ;D

projekteg 04-22-2004 09:29 AM

Re:am i ready for turbo ?

you're going to need an adapter plate for the mani and turbo. you don't need the fpr. you're going to need oil lines like you stated. a boost gauge (at least, maybe an a/f gauge also if you like), check valves(or a missing link) since you're using an fmu so you don't get a cel. an oil pan gasket for when you take your oil pan off to tap it for your oil return, couplers and clamps for you charge pipes, a bov, misc t's and fittings, vacuum hose. that's about all that i can think of for the 'bare minimums'. the day that i thought i had everything and was ready to do my install, i spend 120 bucks on the little things that i had over looked :-\

Re:am i ready for turbo ?

i forgot the bov ,i have it also, actually i have somehow

Re:am i ready for turbo ?

you're also going to need new oil and might as well do a filter too since you will have to take it off to get a clean view of the oil line

Re:am i ready for turbo ?

Re:am i ready for turbo ?

good call on all the little things.... u WILL overlook something, and say "o ----, i gotta go get that". i cant think of anything else to add, other then that comment tho :P

u might wanna change your dufalator valve before u boost ;)

Re:am i ready for turbo ?

don't forget your flux capacitor, but yeah, All the little things reall add up and if you don't have a second vehicle your really screwed, thats why I recomend you do you installs in the homedepot parking lot 8)

Re:am i ready for turbo ?

It looks like you have most of the big things, but it's the small things we tend to ignore and forget. I spent and extra $80 on install day, minor things that add up.

davcivic 04-22-2004 10:26 AM

Re:am i ready for turbo ?

I had another car to go get my parts, but every trip to the autoparts store was a 30min saga. :-\ :-\ Complete waste of time, but needed i guess. Cool it looks like soon you'll be going vrooooommm , pssssstfff, vrooooommmm

muffler bearings....you over looked those...but since you have to do them anyways...go with the high polished ones....better flow you know.

Re:am i ready for turbo ?

If your like me you might take ur radiator out for the turbo install and chargepiping. So you might want to pick up some coolant. You didnt mention anything about ur t3 having a wastegate regulated to 6psi. Your going to boost more then 6 if the wastegate is set at stock amount. So you need a carb spring or some other way of modifying ur wastegate. Your going to need a downpipe 2 ;D
