XP is awesome for not glitching most of the time when you remove and install USB stuffs, and is solid for connecting to wireless networks. It's not at all stable or capable of maintaining wireless networking, but if you've rebooted within the last two hours it's ------- awesome for getting connected within three clicks.

People knock on ME, but it was a close second to Windows 2000 Server for stability in my experience. I ran it for a year and a half of solid net whoring with no reinstalls and a reboot every 3-4 days.

XP is the best thing that is out there for your average user. It has the most compatiblilty I have seen. You can go with a 2000 server edition, it isn't bad, but not as nice looking.

You can wait for the new one to come out.

Vista was annoying as ---- mostly because half the stuff I use won't work on it. Looked fancy though...

I would use XP, it really hasn't given me too many problems.

Bittorrent.

Vista is bloated. Gigs worth of OS, all aimed at media copyrighting.

Hey, I just got the P4 I've been cheaping out on running. 2.0 Ghz processor, currently at 2.1 Ghz and climbing!
