To all you Mosin Nagant rifle owners
I have a m44 right now and I just replaced the stock on it. The original rifle has two rings on the front of the barrel to hold the stock on. The aftermarket one does not need the rings.
I have no idea how to get the rings off the barrel without cutting them. any ideas? |
Re: To all you Mosin Nagant rifle owners
they are not solid rings, they are 1 peice of metal bent in a circle so just pull them apart

Re: To all you Mosin Nagant rifle owners
There should be some spring retainers laid into the stock that hold the rings in place. You should be able to push those into the stock to slide the rings off the end of the barrel.

I knew it had that sort of ring before but they're a huge bitch to get off. What kind of tool would you suggest to ------ the ring?

a tiny screw driver and a hammer. Just force it off. Try not to damage the barrel at the same time. btw, awesome gun. Gotta love some m44 action.
