Who'd HE get it from?/It only takes one time to wreck a good thing. Not that it matters, but had I known that he was planning on spending deep pocket loot on a "baller bearing" turbo, I could have given him a full YEAR warranty on his investment. Live and learn buttsex.

it was run for 1000 miles and then sent to phoenix turbo for a complete rebuild. it has zero miles on a new center section

People don't seem to understand either, that it was right there for you to have, no 1-week ups wait or getting the wrong thing on the mail. He needed it now, to install and have ready for the dyno meet.

it will be the last turbo you buy till 400-500 doesn't cut it anymore. then there be another, and another, and another until your girl or wife divorces you then another, and another.....
sweet turbo, if your manifolds work well then you should hit 400Hp between 15-18lbs of boost.

I never understood why people care what others spend their money on. 
If he wants to buy a used turbo for $1100 than ---- it, its his money get off his nuts and let him do what he wants. You sound like his mommy yelling at him for making a bad investment.

Just make sure that you have adequate oil pressure. Either one (too high too low) can destroy a center section as too much pressure ruins seals and too little ruins bearings. Also make sure that you change your oil religiously or at least buy some sort of restrictor/mesh screen which is highly recommended with ball bearing CHRA's:
