86 toyota corrolla twin leafblower

I was at the hardware store standing in line and this guy had two toro leafblowers. I was reading the side and it said "140 mph nozzal speed." I look at the nozzal and it was at least 2 1/2 inches acrossed. That gave me an Idea. This guy traded this corrolla for $100 where I work. I am thinking I should buy it and put this "twin blower" project together. Oh yeah the price was like $50 for the blowers. I think I will make the charge pipes out of PVC. Its cheap. If it doesn't work I sell the ---- on ebay. Some sap will buy it. Should I do it or not?

You would have to rig something up to controll the throttle of both the LEAF BLOWERS in conjunction with the cars throttle.....$100 for the two blowers and lots of #$gger rigging ...just buy a used turbo!

I would lough at you if I pulled up next to you at a stop light and I heard 2 blower motors at full throttle...HAHAHAHAHA

that's why he suggested the belt driven, but you would have to have a tiny little drive belt on the motor and a huge one on the blower, or the other way around.

No the blowers are $50 for the both of them. I wouldn't have the blowers on all the time I would have to make a switch so they come on at cirtain rpm. I couldn't quit laughing at the posts you guys wrote. Thats some funny ----. I think I will do for the hell of it. I don't think anybody on here has done this. I'll keep you posted.

are the leaf blowers gas or electric? try it, i think it would be cool if it worked, and you could sell it for hundreds on egay.

Re:86 toyota corrolla twin leafblower

We tried to use a leaf blower on a bench test rig to check pressure drop on intercoolers. We used a good quality unit that puts out lots of high speed air but it would barely move the needle on the boost guage. They are just not strong enough to replace a turbo. Maybe with two going at the same time you could get a couple pounds of boost but I doubt it.
Is this an electric or gas blower? If it electric you are going to need a long extension cord. If its gas what are you going to do, run the pull cord into the car and pull start it at stop lights before a race? Sounds like a pain in the ass to me for no good reason.
