I've got a 3sgte manifold i can sell you for 45 plus shipping, better than a log.

I was thinkig of that, but I thought there was some kind of issue with using the stock manifold and turbo from the 3SGTE on the 5SFE? If theres not, than it sounds good to me.. Would you mind posting a pic.. or sending me one U2U.

Been a while since I seen this thread, thanks for all the help though and I've done assloads or research since then. I figured I'd ask here since it's called "homemade" turbo and figured someone around here might have done it before.

Yes, the 3s turbo mani will work on the 5s, but there's a couple of things you need to consider before you boost your 5s.

1. 5s uses a map sensor that doesnt like boost....
2. cranks are prone to cracking...or spinning rod bearings. Not in that order.
3. TPS is a three wire...which on toys means past half throttle...the ecu guesses its load maps. not good for boost....

If your serious about boosting it, build the bottom end, and run a standalone (megasquirt FTW).

The biggest thumbs up about the 5s is that they are so common (camry, mr2, celica) that you can blow it to hell one weekend and slap another back in and be out the next weekend to mop up at the street races.

Just so you know, both the 3vz and the 5vz twin cam V6's BOLT TO THE S TRANNY!!!! And were designed to be boosted to 10psi from TRD's supercharger kit. My friend Jim has a turbocharged 5vz in his n/a chasis mr2 that looks bone stock but absolutley halls ***. PM me and I can give you his cell # if your interested.
