awd civic are for bitches, who the ---- would waste thier time doing that conversion :P
|
Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
I bet it's nice to drive that 400hp awd Civic in the snow though.
|
Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
yeah with all that ground clearance.

11 second 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
obviously someone's not properly abusing that awd system if your still going 11's with 400whp in an awd ef ;) |

Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
no because it's not a honduh and it already comes awd ;)
|
Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
All that work and he didnt even put in a Integra center Console? Lame. Didnt even light the tires up.

Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
kinda odd that is uses shifter cables instead of a shift linkage. i thought only h and f or k series use shifter cables. mmm unless the awd trans is different
|
Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
yes the rt4wd trans from the wagovan uses cables, the ef chassis already has provisions for the cables to go through the firewall also. :)

Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
I think the 11sec time came pre-awd conversion. The project was only completed a few weeks ago, that is the awd part of it. I said something about the clearance, and the builder told me the rear frame piece sits higher off the ground than the LCA's, so I dunno.
|
Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
sweet
|
Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo

Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
it kinda sounds like a boxer engine, probably because it's AWD.
|
Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
stock z6 400whp, sick.
Obviously these guys are not driving it that hard, that tcase would have been ejected out of the car if I was daily driving it. |

And yeah, the guy was babying the ---- out of it, but he had to. The wagovans 4wd system was never in any way intended for 400hp. Im pretty sure you could break it launching hard on a stock engine. |
Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
If you drop the clutch at 6000rpm in any AWD something will most likely break. He launches it at 5k+, but he feathers the clutch out like you should, which is why the thing hasn't blown to bits. Preload is everything on an AWD drivetrain. Start with a little torque in the drivetrain and feather it out to no clutch.
|
Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
Ive done many 7200 rpm launchs, no preload, no feathering, act clutch with no slip. 0 problems :6

Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
In an AWD? Things break when you do that tto a Subie or an Evo.
|
Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
It didnt look all that fast to me. EH, guess i expected more. Nice car though.

So realtime AWD, is that strong or upgradeable? Also what is the power ratio front to rear, I heard its not 50/50

Quoted for redunancy and humor. What did you think was going to happen to a glass gear box or a DSM product? |

Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
He actually launches pretty well. Most AWD drivers pop the clutch and put it flat on its face. Don't know what the management is, but FTL would be nice.

Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
its tunned with neptune by Jeff Evans on c16 and has been running at well over 300 hp being raped at the track for over a year. Jeffs dyno #s read a bit on the high side but regardless this is still very impressive.

Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
thats pretty awesome.
what wagon did it come out of exactly? |
Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
~90 Civic rt4wd wagon
|
Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
he lights up all 4 tires spooling first gear, you can hear the rears break traction after the fronts do, and see it if you look hard enough

Overseas they had rt4wd in Civic EF Sedans and EG's too.

Re: 400whp AWD Civic EF hatch - d16z6 turbo
