Re:300zx tt, yay or nay?

I love(ed) my Z.

I'd kill to drop a twin turbo power plant or find some cheap used low compression forged pistons and build my na motor up for boost (manifolds; turbos; piping; intercoolers; slim radiator and condenser; bigger injectors and a TT rom burned on a 27c256 eprom and slapped in the good ol na ecu (hardware wise they're the same)).

but like its been said before they will give you 10 kinds of hell working on them. and parts are typically way more expensive and harder to come by.

But in the end you'll be driving a 15 year old sports car that looks better than most anything on the road and STILL gets gobs of attention and stuipd people asking if its some kind of 100k exotic.

My buddy spent 10grand last summer on one, it was "mint" on the exterior and had a "jdm" engine, even though the usdm and jdm 3's/fairlady's have the exact same engine. There slow as ---- when they are stock and they are ugly IMO. He had his upgraded with a FMIC,Dual intake(dual pop charger for you 300 guys) and a reprogramed ecu. At 14psi that thing was still slower than my hatch at 5lbs. They are too heavy and way overpriced. If you want a nissan, buy a 240.

your friend is an idiot;
Just like with honda's you can spend scads of money and not get any faster than if you spent your money wisely. (*cough* full-race bullshit *cough*).
A bone stock VG30DETT engine + 2x GT28RS turbo's + bigger intercoolers + the fuel to back it up (800cc or so injectors) + home grown remaped and expanded fuel tables for said boost + 3" exhaust = one fast fucker throw in some pistons and maybe rods and you'll be so close to 1000hp that you can smell it.

---- the stock engine and turbos are good to 400whp with injectors and a play on the computer.

What the hell do you think your trying to compare. ;D I would take a stock tt over a honda any day.Maybe cuz i worked on them for the last 5 years.If you ever drove a stillen preped 300ztt you would love it.Had there low ball version at the shop an it had 98k on it an it was just breaking in.Pulled very hard an u wanna talk about stopping...Whooooaa thank god for shoulder belts cuz those brembo 4piston calipers with drilled an slotted rotors stopped from 120 to 0 hella fast.Jeff an i lets just say we test drove it like we stole it one one night.Had a few races that night against some stang that had some juice an it ripped on by that stang with ease.Even gave him a head start one race.It handled like it was on rails.Just get the stock tt version or a jdm motor then boost it an have lots fun.
RWD is so fun to let hang out :o
No torque steer an all the front wheel drive bs.Check out
STILLEN.com an see what he has to offer for the 300z. Just my .02 worth though

oh okay, you want a rear wheel drive car? yeah, the 240sx is nice. the older fastback ones. You can do a jdm conersion and they'l look nice. You can put a sr20 motor or a skyline motor in them.
