Default 2006 NHRA Lucas Oil Nationals *PICS*

Just got back from the 2006 Lucas Oil Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway. Must say it was awesome. Wasn't able to get a lot of good pics, camera battery was dying and its the same from trailer to trailer so... I also got some vids. It was a digi camera with video so...

The shockwave that the cars give is intense. We were near the end of the track so they went by at 300+mph the shockwave is enough to push your clothing back and blow hats off that aren't very tight. I tried to get some video of tuning in the pits but there was so many people I couldnt get close enough. The exhaust fumes were so bad I couldnt stand it my eyes would burn and tear up instanly. And when they goose the throttle and your directly behind the car the shockwave is huge!

Videos...

Damn, I was there yesterday in the pits of John Haley TA/D. I was thinking about going tomarrow since he won the first round today, but the speeding ticket I got on the way home and the cold I now have aren't too good.

Yeah I was gona stay for the concert... I heard rumor that Staind was gonna play but never got a yes or no about it. But I know they were there. But now its stormin out so I don't know that they still would be. My clothes smell like nitro and alcohol (the fuel), my head hurts from the fumes and noise, my eyes are dry, and my feet hurt. Tomorrow I know I wont be feeling to good from all the walking around.

The place is lax as ----. i parked and rode the pw80 right into the pits without anyone asking for $1. One of the guys was gonna bring me a ticket to the parking lot, and I just rode straight to the trailor. It was strange that it was that easy to get in for free.

Yeah the front gate is easy to slip past... but I kept getting bothered by security inside always asking for my wrist band no matter where I went. I couldnt get into the camp either even just for a few hrs to go and relax and my buddies tents... pissed me off.

I also couldn't venture to far from the pits. I wasn't able to get to the stands at all in between rounds, but at least for TA/D I was up close. Does the back of the support vehicle parked next to the lights count?

I like places like that, places where you can actually intereact or whatever

Like those cylinder heads on the walls and seeing the different types of pistons and rods and what there good for and not good for and made of and just the shear tech that goes into these cars

Beats the ---- outta just sitting on your *** and watching them fly down the track not knowing whats actually happenneing with what

Looks like fun anyways
