15 psi is too much :(

Re:15 psi is too much :(
Oh yes, it was quick for a few moments
The AFR-meter said fuel was sufficient... and it pulled great till it blew, so guess no detonation.
Hope i've just blown my gasket, but guess not since it did not tick over any more.
Will post some pics tomorrow.

An engine is like $50,-- Have two spare ones lying around. Just hope the turbo is fine.
But the damn work

Re:15 psi is too much :(
Well, know more now.
I tried to start the engine this morning to see if it still did not want to turn. But i did and it even started, lot's of smoke though and was running on three cilinders.
Some oil and coolant dripped out during the night.
Luckely my car is held togehter with tie-wraps so dismanteling it can be done pretty quickly. Note the top of a coke bottle on my bov, lol, yeah, i'm a ricer .
That is what Dutch people put on their fries; mayonaise. I'm checking the valves.
It was only the gasket that blew ... Everything else seemed to be ok. Still don't understand why it leaked so much oil and coolant though.
You can see the gasket was in a bad shape, prolly never been changed before.
Well, i'm happy only the head gasket failed, no biggie after all.

Re:15 psi is too much :(
Just found out that the 1.4 HDI (turbo diesel) has a similar bore as mine, so going to check if the head gasket fits on my engine. (it think it will because the engines have the same design)
That gasket should be able to hold more boost. Guess a new gasket original can also hold 15 psi (the old one was in a very bad shape).
@ Jeff
Well i'm not so sure about that closed deck thing
If the hdi gasket works out, i'm going to try 15 psi again.
