1 more honda motor died today

Yup, my d15b1 std motor finally bit the dust, after 30k miles with me, 3 trannies, and a ---- ton of "---- it" it died today. It started with a sound like valve chatter, and then the vibrations started shaking the shifter. About 10 miles later (on my way home) it started stalling when I pushed the clutch in. The noise was now loud as hell, heard over my shitty 2.5" exhaust and kept getting worse. It had almost no power by the time I pulled into the garage, and stalled for the last time as I was coasting in. I just said ---- it, and started taking it out. I've got the whole front end taken apart, oil/tranny/coolant drained, axles out, wiring harness unplugged, and then I got sick of it all and just went it. I'll take it out next weekend, and try to rebuild my spare motor in the meantime. The new one will be a D15b2 (free) with y7 pistons, and a DX tranny... (Si was on the way out) soon to be turbo, but the project may have to wait a bit so I can get a clutch, flywheel, and all that ----. Damn, ----'s messed, it's the first motor I've actually killed, I suppose cruising @ 5.5k isn't great for it huh? Oh well, tracks don't open until April. Pics coming soon... |

imagine that, raggin out the DX and it decided to KABOOM.
anything you beat the hell out of will evetually break. in my case, I don't care! ;D |
