Some would say 'No replacment for displacment'(true) wile others think that technology is the replacment. Well through that same technology on a bigger motor, and it will out preform.


Any way, to call the GTR trash cause a fiberglass car with a 7L beast of a ------- motor beat it is ignorant.

DOnt think im some GTR 'fanboi' I personally like the vette beter.

they are priced the same, so they are on the same level. rice boys around the world were waiting for the z06 killer. they are still waiting.

the c4 is actually not a bad car, its not as good as the c5 or c6 obviously, but the c4 out handled all ferraris and lambos of the same year.

in 1984 the best handling mass production (including lambos and ferraris) car in the world was a c4 corvette. with a 225hp crossfire boat anchor for a motor.

the c4 in 1984 pulled over 1g in the slalom... in 1984...

Uhm, no. The 1.8T is an unreliable turd engine. There's a thread on it currently existing on the front page of the GD (this) forum if you care to educate yourself on the matter. The people posting in it are a couple of avowed dubheads, a couple VW/Audi techs, and a Porsche master tech who is forced to work on VW/Audi during slow winter months. Good luck arguing with them.

have you seen any of the statistics on the company lately they suck. i used to like nissans and i still like older nissans but they have been ---- for a very long time last decent car they made was the 97 240sx and that was not all that cool but other than the 240sx,300zx, and the 350z it is just pure chineese p.o.s. the only motor built in japan any more is the 3.5 and the 3.7 the rest is built in china

all i see is altimas, maximas every time i go down the road...as long as they keep selling cars....they will be fine... got my dad to get a new altima...for a dd i really like it....sure its got some cheap plastic interior...but ---- it..it gets great mpg as well...


its hard to gauge statistics of companies that sell a high priced item right now...as shitty as the economy is, people arent really looking for a new car...except the prius..the toyota plant being built nearby just got switched from building the highlander to prius....i would put money on the majority of automanufacturers are seeing shitty statistics

So you think a push rod v8 is equal to a motor with DOHC, VTC and direct injection?

Add those technologies to a 7L motor, and its a bad mother. But they dont. At the moment, they dont need to. They are making power by bruteforce. To even the playing field of displacment, you need said technologies, and then some. Bring in the turbos.


And as far as the GTR goes, the turbo are under sized. Period. Just like any other FACTORY TURBO VEHICLE. As you know, or at least I hope you do, ALL factory cars some with undersized turbos. Stock turbos are sized for low, and mid engine preformance.

This leads to why I said that they should have larger turbos to be fairly compaird. Who races at half throttle? You dont, you go all out. And if you dont know what happens to top end preformance with undersized turbos, then just end your self now.

Where did I say the it is reliable? You do realise that nothing is perfect, don't you?(my spelling for example)

Saying something is advanced is realitive. As far as the 1.8 being advanced, I forgot the quotation marks. I was trying to convey that a lot of people seem to thing that Germans make good ----.

the GTR would get destroyed even worse without the torque it has. and it would be slower on the track.

OHC was invented in 1910 i believe. are you calling that "new technology"?

VTC is about 30 years old and was invented by GM

several WWII airplanes had direct injection, the first production car to have direct injection was in 1955. Ford used direct injection for a short period of time in the 70s. its not new technology.



again, there is nothing cutting edge with the GTR. nothing is new on it.

in all reality the ls7 is a more "advanced" motor than the pos in the GTR. and its only because of the materials used.
