Re:Another boosted CRX in the family.
how did u get that block so damn clean?
did they steam bathe it at the machine shop then did you wire brush it? normally when I get ---- back from the machine shop (aluminum parts) it looks kinda dirty, like it was washed but not rinsed off.. then again I don't care that much and just throw the parts together - ---- it, going to get dirty under the hood anyways. |
Re:Another boosted CRX in the family.
yayo: the valve cover is painted blue and polished around it.
Semons: the Wiseco's were about $430 from www.raceeng.com i wanted them so i can boost in the very high teens. Quadnie: the shop shot peened the block and then put it in the heat tank, then they painted it for me. bored .5 mm over, micropolished crank, decked block, shotpeened rods and block, hottank. rods, crank, pistons, harmonic balancer, flywheel, and clutch all dynamicly balanced. price: $300. all in all, i know this is "HMT", and the goal is to come off w/ a cheap, fast car. but i wanted to do it right. the total nut for the turbo kit, eng mgt, and built D16 that will push around 17psi ran me about $3000. :-X mike |
Re:Another boosted CRX in the family.
damn it's painted... huh.
I personally would have gone for that wire brushed aluminum look. I was at the mall yesterday and inside the oakley store talking about the design structures of the store to the cute lil sales girl and then she was saying "oh, how do we get these scratches out of the displays" I just explained that the display cases are made of BRUSHED ALUMINUM so brush them out. I really don't think she could understand me that well.. oh well. |
Re:Another boosted CRX in the family.
we paid 1400 for the ones in the kawasaki? without rods. but maybe thats because they were made to custom spec? i dont know i didint order them.
they were domed 14.6:1 compression |
