Re:***TURBO SINGLE CAMS IN FLORIDA
:'(I wish I moved out there(Jacksonville area)last year. I have some relatives living in Lake City. I was going to get started with my cousin in the insurance business. But, A herniated disc has kept me in Longmont, CO for the time being. I don't have a "single cam" car, but it is a real "sleeper" that leaves s-charged 4.6-5.0L Mustangs about 30+ CAR LENGTHS down the highway.
I have a 1988 GTX AWD TURBO w/a tiny little 1.6L Mazda 'B6T' in it, OH! with a knive-edged forged crank, forged rods, ROSS pistons & rings(7.8 to 1 Comp.), The block was decked and O-ringed to handle 28 PSI of boost and a 75 H.P. shot of NOS. I won't give away my 1/4 Mile times. But, this is "ONE OF THOSE AWD CARS" that truely needs 4 slicks to hook up in 1st-3rd at the track. I love driving on the street at 30-45 mph and simply push down the your right foot for "all wheel drive burnouts". After grenading 3 J-SPEC trans., I shelled out $5000 for a sequential 5-spd.(they used them for PRO-RALLY racing). This has held together quite well, and decreased my 1/4 times by 5 tenths of a sec. BONUS!! But, to be honest, I was "spoiled" by the car I owned 4 years ago-(A street legal-10 sec. S-Charged 1970 NOVA SS(496 CU.IN)with DOT tires. Now, I think it would be fun to get a 1994-95 Supra TT- and become a member of the stock-crank/ 900+ whp club. Also, with the STAND-ALONE system, you can easily get 20+ Miles to the gallon with a simple program swap/download. CHEERS: Scott Stewart- Stewart Racing. Longmont, CO 80501 |
