is this an obd0 obd1 ls motor? if its obd0 the mpfi swap is cake. just learn how to tin the wire so you dont get a shitty cold solder. Its just 4 wires and repining the distributer. If your not confident in your abilitys paying 400 for help that will be there is not bad.

Yeah check the year it is coming from, the motor, if it is from a 90-91 integra you are good to go. Anything newer it will require a little more thinking. Now $800 for the complete swap plus installation is a good deal as long as the engine is in good-decent condition.

I wouldn't do it but that's just because I'm lazy and I don't need the money, or really have the extra time to work on other cars, just mine.

Anyone with some experience would do it to get some money out of the deal in little time.

With that said I would do it myself, it feels a lot better when you show someone your car and tell them, yes I did everything myself not help. Also knowing it was done right and learning how to do it again is great, no matter how gay it sounds, knowledge is power. You can use this knowledge later on in life, who knows.

The main thing is not being afraid. If it is your first time, I would get help like you are trying. Learn that way, but don't just stand there, really help out.

In the end it is your decision, here, HMT, most of the guys if not all pride themselves on working in their own cars, doing pretty much everything ourselves, so most replies you'll get will be to do it yourself.

ok what i meant was having him there to help me. so far, i have done all the work on my car myself. the only reason i have even taken my car to a shop was to have the front end alligned. i want to learn how to do the mpfi swap, cuz i have three cars that need it.

then it is not a bad deal. Even a complete b18 swap, and I mean complete, tranny axles, ecu, wiring, for $800 is a pretty good deal.

Make sure if it is an OBD1 engine, which is actually better, to tell the guy helping you to do it right, convert your hatch to OBD1
