making a jig so that the turbo and manifold would be a drop in fit, i want to be able to quickly covert back to stock if i needed to go and do emissions/deq.

figuring out the intercooler install. i wanted it to be something that wasnt obvious and stuck out to cops saying pull me over...lol i also was able to eliminate a lot of excess tubing and also have air directly cool the intercooler and the portion of tubing going to the intake as well.

more or less Frankensteined and canibalized from parts i had laying around..but in the end turned out to work great...i contverted the turbo from internally wastegated and modified the housing to accept a tial flange. ran into a problem with my thermostat housing being in the way..ooops. but i adapted it and made a turn that allowed the tial to sit out of the way. later i just made a different thermostat housing from a 1.8 liter engine..

lol the manifold half made...this was fun i was able to reuse the center sections from the dc sports to finish the manifold without additional costs for mandrel bent tubing..pretty fun project.

another picture of the manifold on the jig. this method by far saved me so much trouble with fitment...the only issue i had was some flange warpage...which no shop would tackle for some reason....so i bought a belt sander on a stand at harbor frieght for 100 bucks with a warranty and resurfaced all of the mounting points...worked like a charm but i blew out the belt sander in the process...lol took it back they gave me a refund

i decided to rebuild the evo 8 mr, td05hr 16g6 10.5t..just as a precaution...i have had the turbo smoke for random reasons none of which were seal related...believe it or not i have found that tune, blowby, how your egr/pcv is routed... etc can have a drastic effect on if your setup has smoking problems..so smoke doesn not necessarily mean a blown turbo

a wideband gauge and sensor kit lc-1 innovate afr gauge for tuning. most of these can be wired in to emulate your stock narrowband o2 sensor so you dont need to retap the exhaust for another sensor....pretty cool stuff

i set up a separate screen that runs off of 1 usb cord for video and data. its called a mimo, it uses a touchscreen as well and works perfect for running my tuning software on the go...makes driving and tuning much much safer

my collection of odds and ends all mashed together to make this...thing.. the foam turbo intake and maf adapter from a subaru sti from perrin (older style) and evo intake boot or an evo 8...works great keep heatsoak from coming from the intake side due to ambient heat.

my oil filter relocation kit, and my tap from the clean oil side of the filter for the oil feed to the turbo...it has a gauge and a valve to close off the oil in case i need to service the turbo for whatever reason.
