your opinion on the CT-26
do you think a CT-26 will be too big for a d-series? i am not even sure of its size. this is what I was planning on using for my setup, but if it will lag really bad, I will get something else......

Re:do you think a CT-26 will
yeah buddy... The CT-26 we're using on a friends bimmer is bigger than the T3-T04e that we're using on an LS-VTEC... that Turbo is completely wrong for D-Series... i predict u will start to see boost around 5-6000 RPM... have fun!

Re:do you think a CT-26 will
It depends what its off of. There are at least 2 CT26's, one off an MR2 and the ones off the Supra. The one off the Supra which is a 60/63 I think would be a bit laggy but would have a nice kick to it. Either is acceptable though.

Re:do you think a CT-26 will
Use it

Re:do you think a CT-26 will
will I could sell it and get the coin for it.....
|
Re:do you think a CT-26 will
if u use that turbo u better go find the logest dx/cx geared tranny u can cus ur only gonna be in boost for 2-25000 rpm...

Re:do you think a CT-26 will
I know there are more than two ct-26's. I don't understand why toyota calls them all the same. Either way use it, it's a turbo ;D ;D ;D
cars that had ct-26's Mark III supra MR2 Celica GT4 (two different types, one is the same as an MR2) TRD Supra Toyota Vitz (Jap echo) and a few others...stupid toyota |
Re:do you think a CT-26 will
the question is though is it a waste of time. this one came off a 92 supra had about 18,000 miles ;D its pretty sweet looking but if I have to get something else I will.

Re:do you think a CT-26 will
The compressor on the turbo is fine, its the turbine that you should be worried about. Either get a .48 turbine housing for it or sell the whole turbo and get something a little smaller

Re:do you think a CT-26 will
Yea dude, that turbo kiks, my dude had one in his 87 Supra MK IV, you mgiht need to nix the AC tho...if yer a fat guy like me, i enjoy AC in the hot summer days and nites... ;)

Re:do you think a CT-26 will
CT26 is a tiny turbo, i dont see how you guys should have any trouble using it. i got 15 psi from my ct26 at about 3200 RPM. ct26 dies out bad at 5500 RPM, just stops pulling. this is with a 2.0 liter mr2 though(my stock turbo). the most HP we have gotten from a ct26 is like 220RWHP .The supra CT26 is a tad bit larger. Not much bigger to be any kind of upgrade anyway. supra CT26 is NOT .60/.63 . the ct26 is bulky, very heavy, and has a very poor flowing exhaust housing. my td06-20g doesnt look much bigger then my stock ct26 and it can support wayyyyy more RWHP.

Re:do you think a CT-26 will
I just tuned an H22 turbo with a CT26 from a supra. Made 5PSI around 3200 RPM. On a little 1.6l D series? Forget it.

Re:do you think a CT-26 will
I would be interested in that turbo topair it up with the other one i have. Might do a twin turbo setup on my sbc.I could trade you out of it or buy it.Prefer trade,I am very resourefull an a good fabricator. If your interested let me know Thanks....

Re:do you think a CT-26 will
I'm going to be using a CT26 Supra Turbo on a Honda.. should be interesting ;D
|
Re:do you think a CT-26 will
still... the compressor is small
|
Re:do you think a CT-26 will
I think I might try it, there is too wide of opinion here to not form my own....
|
Re:do you think a CT-26 will
I say go for it, ct26 from a MR2 will spool up very fast(15 psi@3200RPM) The mr2 ct26 will make way more power then a stock D-series can make anyway. BTW the CT26 loses efficency above 17PSI, thats when it just starts blowing hott air and giving you a better chance of detonation.

Re:do you think a CT-26 will
the one I have is off a mkIII supra. I am told it's like a 60/63 a/r?
|
Re:your opinion on the CT-26
oh no way. its nowhere near a .60/.63,its alot smaller. ct26 looks big and bulkly but trust me its not. the turbo doesnt flow well and doesnt support anything more then 250hp for the supra CT26.
|
Re:your opinion on the CT-26
what is the size of her then?
|
Re:your opinion on the CT-26
well toyota doesnt tell us the A/R's of the ct26 but someone measured the mr2 compressor and it was like .42? or so. really small. supra CT26 compressor is slightly larger, and just a tiny bit, not much of any difference.
|
Re:your opinion on the CT-26
anyone know where to get the specs on it?
|
Re:your opinion on the CT-26
good luck finding ANY sort of maps for the CT26. the MR2 CT26 is similar in size to the 2g DSM T25.
|
Re:your opinion on the CT-26
why is it so small on a motor that is so much bigger? I am not understanding. it runs 7psi on a SUPRA. So I assume it can flow. Still I can't find ---- to back that up......
|
Re:your opinion on the CT-26
ct26 flows horrible because of a poorly designed turbine housing. i would compare a CT26 more to a 14b. it spools up very fast but just totally stops pulling at about 5500 RPM. CT26 is also horribly inefficent. my td06 pulls wayyyyyyyyy harder at less boost then what i was running on my ct26. From what i have read , mr2 compressor is like .38 or close, supra compressor is like .42
