there is always that chance you could overheat and blow your ---- up... no reason for that.

oooh theres a reason,
I dont really feel like putting in a new headgasket.
I'm going to retorque my headbolts tonight,
then monitor my levels, if its gone down again after say 2 weeks.. then somethings definetely up.

I'll check my water pump too :)
but if the water pump is ok, then i'm not sure wtf is goin on.

Do you think it must be the headgasket in that case?
(ok i dont mind replacing it that much, never removed a head and i'd like to learn).

bah,
well I checked the headbolts,
they were all already at or above the 49lb's required.

I suppose I could have tried untorqueing them then retorqueing them down.. but was kinda scared that that'd cause more problems.

SOOooo.. i duno.

Detorquing and retorquing would not solve the problem of a headgasket, that would probably make it worse. Like someone else said, have you changed the oil since the coolant started leaking?

I wouldnt do that. Thatd be a bitch if you broke one and had to remove it from the head. Yeah how does the oil look? And how rapidly are you losing coolant?

changed oil a few times,
it doesnt look bad, never has a milky color to it.
always brown/black(once its realy dirty, hehe).

BUT I FOUND A LEAK!!!

definetely! it must only be after driving the car, or during, because theres never a puddle when it sits,
but I jacked up my car today right after driving it, and there was some slight drippage coming from the crankpulley side ofthe engine,

actually a drip from RIGHT underneath the crank pulley!

anyone know where the water pump is located??

thanks
