Default is it worth getting prelude type s engine?

i need some opinion. right now i have a turbo in my 95 accord vtec engine. i'm thinking of getting a prelude type S engine from japan. the complete swap is around 4,000. would the engine be fast enough if i boost like 9 psi into that engine? i'm thinking of building up the block to handle 25 psi? to build the block i need to spend another 2,500 or so. i want to build the engine to beat this guy with the WRX. he is running 20 psi right now. what do i need to beat the wrx??

yeah you need a lot of boost to beat that wrx and some good traction.
I've seen some stock WRX's on high boost levels and they are fast.
the AWD help a lot with the launches, but you can catch up at the end though.
I don't know what engine to reccomnd, but I've heard that the F-series heads flow better then the others.I would just sleeve the F-series you have if it's possible and boost it 25 psi or so...get a good turbo if you can afford ballbearing go for it, you need something with a pretty big exhaust side depends on how much power you want to make. And get some slicks.

u r the second person told me that i can make that f22 go fast. i talk to this guy at auto link, he told me i need to sleeve my block and put in pistons and rods then my block should be able to take 25 psi safly. well, i'm thining of doing all the sleeving when i get my H22 type S engine from jap. i really don't think i can beat that wrx, but i just give it a try when i'm done anyways.

I don't know if the Type s Block are open-deck...Cause if it's the closed decked one than sleeving it would be difficult or maybe impossible.
I'd rather take my chances with the F-series engine. The money you woul need to buy the H22 you could have sleeved your F22 and gotten the pistons and rod's.
And have a better engine for boost.
And a better flowing head would be better to.
DOHC doesn't always mean better though especially when you're going to be building it up for serious boost.
Either way a WRX on 20 psi would be a challange to beat...they have AWD limited slip diff whatever and you got a FWD with bad traction.
Well get some slicks and big boost and you might have a chance.
If the WRX is using the stock turbo than you can beat it pretty easy though

everyone sez the h22 busts even at 10psi..

but i mean with sleevs and 20psi. u would wipe a wrx no problem..

H22's cannot hold boost, they are once and done detonation motors. They are closed deck motors but use FRM sleeves so your piston choice is very limited. I don't understand why your going to spend $7500 on a type s high compression motor and build it. If I were you, I'd build the F22, boost the ---- out of it. You'll beat him if you know what your doing.

Come on a WRX...its just an overhyped family car.

the wrx is a stick. i know the guy with the wrx. i just want to see where my accord would stand against that wrx. i don't really worry about the h22 type S, i can get it really cheap. i know the guy that sell the jap. engines. he is a close friend, he is pretty much giving it to me. anyways, i thought the new h22 have an open deck at the block. i know that the 96 or older had a close deck. i think the h22 can hold 20 psi if i sleeve, pistons and rods. i hope the engine will be here by next month. i either gonna build the h22 or my f22.is time to save up some $$$$$$. do u guys thnk i can hit 13 sec. if i run 20 psi on my f22 engine?? or maybe high 12?? i never seen an accord doing 12sec.
