I just finished installing my turbo kit (about ------- time) but I cant go over 5Krpm that easy, it bogs and really just takes for ever to reach 6Krpm. I have 2(or less) degrees of retard. on the distributer. I think I need to mess around with cam gear, what do you guys thinkAlso I'm barely boosting 5 psi at 4Krpm and it stays still after 5Krpm

HF manifold, running a TDO4L, with 440cc DSM injectors, and Hondata. Thanx

 

could be a tuning problem, maybe too much fuel, but I know nothing, my car is broken.

No lights, it idles fine but it kinda backfires/bogs a little bit but really cant go over 5krpms

what kinda of air filter is on the turbo?

also, i'd say its either running too rich, or too lean.

you should take it to a dyno for some tuning.

 

Too rich...while out last night at full boost and throttle i was below 9 afrs and the motor died at 5k...

lean it out a touch above 5k rpms

 

My friend is a Hondata dealer; so you said its probably to rich, I'll hook up a wideband and check it out. But damn its feels good to be boosted (too bad its really not tuned). The whirl of the turbo is ------- loud!!!!!I'll get back with you guys w/ pics and might need more advice for tunning my car. Thanx I really appriciate all the info. I've learned and will continue to learn, I've never thought I get this far, but I finally did.

Hey man, i had the same problem with my car, it wouldnt go above 5K and i tried everything i could, it ended up being my timing, even though it would run fine n/a, but when under boost there was no hope in it getting over that, so if i was you, i would play around with the dist. and see if it helps or hurts any, and then go to the cam gear, good luck and Merry Christmas
