will my setup destroy my car

i have a 99' civic si , and i got some greas saab T3 turbo and i have no idea what the PSI is set too, i beleive it came off of a 9000, can some one please tell me what PSI its set to also, the only fuel managment im going to have is some black FMU that came off of a ford, will this be a sufficient setup for my turbo project, or do i need to stop being gay and my a kit

Well, from what I have read about everyone else's setups, they have a bit more information. Plus, the wastegate is what actually "sets" the amount of boost that the turbo will push to the intake before releaseing.

Anyway, "some Ford FMU"? Hrm.. you'd need to be more specific.

let me be a little more specific about my set up, i have a saab 900 or 9000 T3 turbo, i also have the saab intercooler ,the only thing i have to control my fuel is an FMU, i dont nkow the ration its set at, but the person i got it from said it was off of a ford, i am wondering if anyone knows what the wasegate is set to and if my engine can handle it with just the FMU

Re:will my setup destroy my car

I could of swore some of the Saab wastegate shafts had a threaded rod on them no? If so you can adjust it lower that way. But for the most part I think they are around 6-7psi.

I would definatly get a better fuel managment setup, than just a FMU, especially on a B16a.

I wish I could have Johnny's "trial and error" wallet. Hahah.. My wallet tells me I better know what the hell I'm doing BEFORE I do it.

Just go to some refinery and get some toluene and pour it straight into your gas tank. Then, you really can't detonate EVER at 8 psi... or 38 psi... :o and you won't have to worry about the detonation, only the structural strength of your pistons, rods, and crank. Oh yeah, and back the timing off a couple degrees, too ;)

Re:will my setup destroy my car

some one wrote something about the wastgate having threads and it doesn, does that mean i can adjust the boost?

aron2063 01-10-2003 02:49 PM

Re:will my setup destroy my car

i meant to say "it does" have the threads
