Well, when cylinder #1 decides to relocate approximately 1mm south while cylinders #2, #3, and #4 decide to stay where they are and not migrate south with cylinder #1, that would be what I call "biting you in the ***". I'm sure the block could have been saved, but after all that bullshit I decided to scrap it.

The design with the blockguard with very large coolant passages is supposed to work well.
AZRace and STR have the similiar design. Definetly better than the one on the bottom which has caused issues.
Small coolant passages on this style:
