Who likes carnage pics??? NEW PICS UP
Yeah....soo....---- me..
This happened yesterday. Casual downshift into 4th at about 80mph, got the rpms to around 4k and got on it a little, BOOM. All I can think of is that the shitty aluminum oil pan was weakened from having a bung welded to it. It gave way, my oil exited the pan, and my motor took a dump.
Sucks ***, but it can only get bigger and better from here.
Onto the pics
oil everywhere
Oil return, wtf??
next step, aquire a z6 bottom end ( or full swap) and get this turd back on the road N/A style. Spend the next 6 months or so aquiring parts for a more serious build, build and boost next winter, and have it back on the streets Spring 08

There was nothing in the road that could have ripped the line off. The road is freaking brand new and perfectly smooth. But yes, that hole is directly where the return fitting used to be.
I'm going to drop the pan today, and see how things look on the inside. Theres a SLIM SLIM SLIM chance that I might be ok. I don't remember the car knocking at all after it happened. If things look cool inside, I'm going to pop a new oil pan on (------- steel this time..) and see if she'll start.

Update, Motor is FUCKED. Real carnage pics will come soon.
Snapped a rod, it blasted through the piece that holds the crank (sorry, brain fart..), and blew holes in the front and back of the oil pan. I've yet to find the actual piston and rod, but I haven;t fully emptied the oil pan yet, shes still draining right now...
