I've got a summit 8 gallon race cell. You could mount that in the passenger area, and build a firewall around it. With the proper suspension, you should be fine with it there. If you're interested in it, let me know (it's brand new with mounting brackets and I've got a volvo turbo inline pump.

What exactly is the definition 'firewall' to NHRA? I've been wanting to put a 6-8 gal cell in my 95 Coupe for the longest. Do I just need to weld a plate where the rear seats once were?

I had planned to saw-zall out the spare tire bubble, weld a plate across the hole and mount the small cell there.

I have the same question. If I put a cell in the passenger seat area, do I have to build an enclosed box around it for a firewall or what?

yeah, a descently thick metal box that fully encloses the box from you will do. It needs to be pretty solid to pass tech though...
