Default where do you mount your Inline?

I was told by so many that they mount it between there filter and rail, but I was wondering if it could be mounted anywhere esle? My line from my filter to rail it short and I dont know if I feel like adding extensions and hose clamps to make it fit.

I had mine bolted to the frame under the car next to the gas tank... I have always heard you dont want a restriction on the inlet side (i.e. the fuel filter)

I have mine mounted to the intercooler piping towards the throttle body, its right inbetween the fuel filter and the fuel line. Seems to be working great so far. Let me know if u want a pic. I would post them, but im dumb and cant figure out how
