Where can I find trim size??
I just baught a garrett turbo off of ebay with a .42/.48 housing on a T3. I need to find out what trim size it is so I know what compressor map to use. I've got a bunch of numbers, on a badge, on the side of the turbo. Is there a web site where i can punch in these numbers to find out the trim size?? I also don't know what car the turbo came off of. I went to www.egarrett.com but that didn't really tell me anything.
Thanks for any help. |
Re:Where can I find trim size??
I would think .42 is your trim... I'm not sure on a website for you to look it up though.

Re:Where can I find trim size??
.42 is the a/r...if im not mistaken, the trim is the size of the impeller/inducer whatever in mm....i am not sure though

Re:Where can I find trim size??
.42 and .48 are the sizes of the exhaust and the compressor housings. I'm looking for the size of the actual turbo, or "impeller/inducer" as ghettoturbo said.

Measure it

Re:Where can I find trim size??
To be certain, you need to measure the inducer & exducer diameter...
but based on my junkyard experience, I'll take an edumacated guess and say that "most likely" it's 42mm inducer & 60mm exducer = 49.0 trim... use 50-trim compressor map. What did you pay to get this? |
