let me tell you about wheel spin and wheel hop, crx+b16a+60 trim t3+no LSD+shitty ass worn out suspention+clutchmaster stage 3+11 lbs. flywheel+16 inch wheels with bfg drag's= MASSIVE spin and hop in first gear from about 3,800 rpm all the way to 8k, all the way through second, and i gain traction at about 7,000 rpm in third, and my clutch does not slip, this killer ass combination along with me being a shitty driver (track nerves) equaled 15.1 and 14.9 second passes at 103 mph!

i just need to hook up some good struts and a set of traction bars to regain some traction and pull 13's, it'll get done this winter, and no a stock z6 w/ IHE cant hang man, i live in colorado at 5,000 ft. elevation, a z6 hatch with IHE will net about 16.8 in the 1/4 up here, if i can run low 13's with better suspention i will have a 12 second sea level car, i just need the traction, right now i can do a 2nd/3rd gear pull next to a c5 vette and pull on it by like 1 1/2 - 2 cars at the top of third with my wheels spinning, i'd hardley call that a waste of money....

To spin (cough, peg-leg, cough) the top of third w/ a b16 on 8psi, you must be running some 155r13's from geo metro hahhaha. ;)
My 355whp CRX doesnt break 3rd loose w/ a roll-on.

Re: When do you lose traction?

as a matter of fact lol when i was running my stock 14's with cheap ass all seasons is when it would spin hard in third, now with the 16's and good tires it doesnt really spin in third, just a little in the beggining then its like wheel hop untill the top of third, you can just tell its not getting full traction, its not that planted ass hard pulling untill you get close to the top of third, i dunno its ------ gay, i just hope traction bars and good struts will fix it, oh and i live in fort collins mang :y im sure you've seen my car before if you live up here, black crx, really big intercooler, thats about all i can say to distinguish my car....

Re: When do you lose traction?

LMAO! Reminds me of when my friend thought his boosted sohc was spinning tires in 4th...he was kinda dissapointed when i told him it was his massively slipping clutch :P.

On a side note: My sohc with a td04-13g spins tires through 1st and 2nd pretty easily. Spoolup is almost instant...when i don't have freaking exhaust leaks...

You're probably right about 3rd gear too. The combination of very cold roads, clutch slipping, and inexperience of driving my car leaves me clueless as to whats going down there.

At 15psi, the car felt a little faster than stock.
At 10psi, car was kinda fast.
At 8psi the car is fastest right now :)

Once I install the clutch and flywheel, I'll report my third gear burnouts to you ;D
