When do you lose traction?
This is only for people with stock suspension.
I've got a D16Z6 boosted with a TD04-13G. It's sitting on heavy 17" wheels with 240mm wide tread. I dont know if its just cold today, but at 3500 RPM and full throttle I lose all traction in 5th. I am easily spinning the tires in every gear. In one sense, this is great, in another, my car is slow. |
Re: When do you lose traction?
buy a new clutch ;)

Re: When do you lose traction?

|
Re: When do you lose traction?
You will know when you get wheel hop.
|
Re: When do you lose traction?
You wish your D16 had enough power to spin 5th gear.
|
Re: When do you lose traction?
haha, for real^^. Trust me, unless ur making like 900whp, you wont spin for ---- in 5th.
Its time to get a new clutch! |
Re: When do you lose traction?

Anyway, I'm disappointed and happy at the same time. Sorry for the vulgarities 88dx - the minute I read your post, I knew you were right. |
Re: When do you lose traction?
Contact LSD motorsports and you'll be happy again.

J/K man... A 6 puck from LSD will hook up nice. My old Stage 1 Clutchmasters fried earlier this year. I was going to the track, doing "burnouts" but my tires were never moving. Took a few trips to the burn out box to figure that one out. |

Anyway - tard moment is over. I already ordered a clutch from LSD and now I'm kinda looking at a flywheel. |
Re: When do you lose traction?

Re: When do you lose traction?
I got the 8lb and 6 puck from lsd and its a good combo.it just takes some getting used to. It is a GREAT clutch. I get no chatter at all out of mine. :y

Re: When do you lose traction?
funny ----. haha. do you seriously think you can break the tires loose in 5th with a td04 on 17's. i know what you need. a jk motorsports traction bar ;)
|
Re: When do you lose traction?
let me tell you about wheel spin and wheel hop, crx+b16a+60 trim t3+no LSD+shitty ass worn out suspention+clutchmaster stage 3+11 lbs. flywheel+16 inch wheels with bfg drag's= MASSIVE spin and hop in first gear from about 3,800 rpm all the way to 8k, all the way through second, and i gain traction at about 7,000 rpm in third, and my clutch does not slip, this killer ass combination along with me being a shitty driver (track nerves) equaled 15.1 and 14.9 second passes at 103 mph!

Re: When do you lose traction?

Re: When do you lose traction?
omg lol

Re: When do you lose traction?
To spin (cough, peg-leg, cough) the top of third w/ a b16 on 8psi, you must be running some 155r13's from geo metro hahhaha. ;)
My 355whp CRX doesnt break 3rd loose w/ a roll-on. |
Re: When do you lose traction?
as a matter of fact lol when i was running my stock 14's with cheap ass all seasons is when it would spin hard in third, now with the 16's and good tires it doesnt really spin in third, just a little in the beggining then its like wheel hop untill the top of third, you can just tell its not getting full traction, its not that planted ass hard pulling untill you get close to the top of third, i dunno its ------ gay, i just hope traction bars and good struts will fix it, oh and i live in fort collins mang :y im sure you've seen my car before if you live up here, black crx, really big intercooler, thats about all i can say to distinguish my car....

Re: When do you lose traction?
LMAO! Reminds me of when my friend thought his boosted sohc was spinning tires in 4th...he was kinda dissapointed when i told him it was his massively slipping clutch :P.
On a side note: My sohc with a td04-13g spins tires through 1st and 2nd pretty easily. Spoolup is almost instant...when i don't have freaking exhaust leaks... |

My 355whp CRX doesnt break 3rd loose w/ a roll-on. At 15psi, the car felt a little faster than stock. At 10psi, car was kinda fast. At 8psi the car is fastest right now :) Once I install the clutch and flywheel, I'll report my third gear burnouts to you ;D |
