Diesels "can" have detonation. They have low *** compression motors and desiel so it's very hard. Think of it as the engine being the turbo's bitch.

I alway's thought deisels had high compression. Thats the whole concept of how the fuel gets ignited in the combustion chamber of a diesel engine.

yea...that is why once they're warmed up you don't need glow plugs any more..the heat from ltheir rediculous compression makes that ---- go boom

diesslrs have something dumb like 25:1 compression if i remember coreectly....

diesels vary in compression ratio from 17:1 to 22:1 commonly and probably higher

usual compression ratio for your average diesel is around 20:1
