what up im new to the turbo world and got a couple questions

whats up everybody, im new to the turbo game but not new to hondas or wrenchin....im getting a 95 del sol b18 turbo, that uses a oddball flange. a 7 bolt flange (turbo is from a 300zx), and needs a rebuild...

1. does anyone have any experince with one of these?
2. smarter to rebuild or change to a more common turbo/downpipe?

$$ is a issue, just trying to find a couple things out..thanks guys

getting.....as in dont have yet? this isn't htech, we dont e-build your car for you before you even get your ----. 99% of the time people who say "im getting this or that" dont end up getting it. if you DO own it, post porn and some pics of the whip and we'll gladly help out

Most likely it's the T3 .63/.60. If $$ is an issue, keep it and rebuild it. If you change to another turbo, you will have to make a new downpipe.
You can always upgrade to a T4 compressor wheel/backplate/housing later.

Rebuilds are expensive. It might be worth it to just put that money into changing to a more common flanged turbo now and leave yourself with easier upgrades/changes in the future.

Mentioning that you have nudies of your girl just made it worse. I'm surprised there hasn't already been 5 pages of responses harassing you for them. :y :6

A rebuild from blaast will typically cost in the $129-200 range. In my opinion, it would be best to rebuild if it is a .63/60. Like Whiterice said, you could always upgrade to a T4 compressor later, the .63 turbine is good. Also, a new downpipe will cost you some skrilla...$

Blaast is a sponsor here, based in Montreal, Canada. He's very good at what he does, and he's a nice guy to boot. Check the HMT Sponsors section up and to the left.

Re: what up im new to the turbo world and got a couple questions

THat z31 turbo is great for a b18. Worst case, just a rebuild can do the trick. it'S good for almost 300 HP!

but sure, there's lots of things we can do to it to furher improve it's behavior on a b18.

For a faster spool up but no more than 260 hp, and to have that standard 5 bolts outlet flange, you could switch to .48 a/r turbine and keep that z31 compressor side.

for more power without sacrifying much spool up, you could upgrade the compressor for a t4 and that way, you can do as much as 400 hp on the odd balled z31 stage 1, .63 turbine side.
