Default What type of head gasket to use on my z6?

Im planning on turbocharging my d16z6. My friend said just put on some ARP head studs and a thicker head gasket, but im not sure what thickness to use. I found cometic .030" gaskets for like 35 bucks and i was wondering if thats thick enough. The turbo i plan to use is a 16G, with a DSM 1G BOV and a FMIC of some sort. So what do you guys think?

Looks like the 92-95 d16z6 OEM Gasket from Honda and copper spray.
Check out this thread.

I have a Mr. Gasket 2mm stackable but I wouldn't buy another one. The stock compression is low enough but whats a good compression ratio is one of the most debated topics so it all comes down to personal preferance for how low or high you want.

Yea im not real sure what i want my compression to be, i mean i just dont want like zero power when im off boost or at a low boost setting. But basically from reading that other thread i should just get an oem gasket and spray it with copper?

I just replaced mine with a Beck/Arnley head gasket and installed some ARPs as well...

The Beck Arnley is a nice gasket, MLS and supposedly better than OEM quality... we will see....

Any stock z6 gasket, doesnt have to be factory. I've used several aftermarket head gaskets such as felpro/Napa gold etc, they are all tri-style metal gaskets.

Spray the gasket with copper spray and use ARP studs she should seal up just fine.

Haha... thanks, but I work in the Baxter corporate office

The Beck Arnley is made out of three layers of metal, and looked really nice... plus, I got it for like $20 with my discount...

BTW, I fired my car up today after getting it all back together... Kicked over on the first try and purred like a kitten! No leaks either! yaya! Set the timing and topped off the coolant... now it's time to go rip on her!
