Ok i have not posted in while guys, sorry kinda been off the map here with work and all. Plus have had no funds for the project car.

Here is where i lay today. My 91 crx has a jdmb16 with a cutom turbo set-up...im running a cheapy china turbo that i bought off egay awhile ago. It has done its job for sure. I got my car dynoed last year which i should mention is a STOCK b16. only has a resurfaced head and ARP head studs. And it made 265whp at about 8-9psi.

I was happy with that. Although there is a bit of turbo lag. it does not fully spool until about 5500rpm........Later in the season last year i had what i thought was a boost leak...still an unknown issue. The cars other components are good quality parts, tial wastegate, turbosmart BOV, RC injectors, turbosmart dual stage boost controller......and many more...

It only fitting that i purchase a quality turbo. I was looking a turbonetics turbos and there are a few that are similar to my cheapy one..(which is a t3/t4 turbo)

I want to know for my application a stock b16 only wanting to achieve around the same horsepower i made last year....or maybe a little more....what would be the best turbo for my application, specs and all.

I have a 1500cc and am running a Tdo4h(Garret T2 it makes good power but everyone says the best turbo for my setup is T3/T4 57mm Exhaust Wheel!

(i have seen so many small cc guys go T3+ and regret it!)

i say GARRETT t3/t04e 50trim with .63/.60 or .63/.50 a/r.

its a little smaller then what you have now but it will make up for it with more power at lower rpm.


~10psi should get you same or a little more then what you had/have.

whats your spending limit? with your smaller displacment i would run a gt30 its a garret turbo and will spool pretty nicely on your b16, but if money doesnt permit you to do that, a garret 57 trim would be nice my friend is running that on his b16 3500

well I am truly looking for something that will give me the same performance the ching chong one gave me, with no lag.....I was planning on going back to get it re tuned and would like to have around 275whp.......maybe something that would help me reach full boost (of 8-9psi) at around 3500rpms.

I would like to get somthing around the price range of $500....im broke these days just bought a condo

Took the words out of my mouth, You could run a gm-8, I know at about 13ish psi they make around 300 whp on a ls.

GT3076R is probably the turbo i'll be going with after I save up more cash.. that's what I would recommend for any low displacement build around 300-400whp
