WHAT times are YOU running?

what 1/4 mile times are you running?

please post:
PSI
motor
important factors which cause you to run those times (i.e. gtech timed?, weather?, tire compound? tranny? lsd?)

If i do this right, I think I can hit low 14's on 8 psi of boost on a 1.5 dseries...FMU, injectors, intercooled, etc. i've seen a d16z6 on stock internals do mid 13's (don't know what the boost pressure was, but i think it was more than 8psi).

thanks,
chris

Re:WHAT times are YOU running?

16.2 @ 90 MPH :(

Best trap: 92 MPH

But this is with a 4 door Corolla... They run 19.5's stock. Here's a list of things that WILL get me into the 14's:

1.New clutch. My Centerforce was slipping badly, so I couldn't launch it well without heating it up to the point of slipping the rest of the way down the track. My 60' times were ~ 2.8-2.9's. At least its good to know that my car's making enough power to absolutely destroy a brand new Centerforce clutch in 2 months.

2.Better manifold. My header leaks like a ------- seive.

3.Better fuel management. I have a 12:1 FMU that makes my car run richer than a ----------er.

I don't wanna make excuses, but a car that is laying down trap speeds in the 90's should be running at least mid 14's. This spring I plan on adding the 450's with the FTB (Fuel on a Trailerpark Budget) hack, welding up a new manifold, and getting a better clutch.

73.51mph?

hmm, calling bullshit..

btw, reaction time isnt figured into 1/4 mile times.

I'm calling bullshit too on that...

Re:WHAT times are YOU running?

isnt the 1/4 mile more than 1000 feet?
i thought it was like 1420 or somethign like that?

which would explain his odd time/mph

BigJ 03-16-2003 10:23 PM

Re:WHAT times are YOU running?

1/4 mile is 1248', his car is probably running a 15.5-16 since he is going 74mph at 1000'

By the way who the hell measures 1000 feet?

HMT-Admin 03-16-2003 10:27 PM

Re:WHAT times are YOU running?

ahh that explains it, I thought he ment 1000 feet as in his altitude.. I guess that time would be about right..

1320ft is the 1/4 mile

Re:WHAT times are YOU running?

i smell the fertilizer too!

It's hard to run 14's, let alone low 13's on a stock SOHC 1.6L, especially when all the mods you have can give you 20-27 HP MAX! i could hardly break into the 15's with similar mods~ that's why i got a turbo!!!

sorry man, i don't believe ya!

Re:WHAT times are YOU running?

i really dislike when people post like that. i mean come on it says 1/4 mile not 1000' times. are you just saying that to claim 13's? cause if so i mean i ran a 13.056. ::) not trying to be mean but come on.

Re:WHAT times are YOU running?

jeez guys, the guy said he was running the 1000ft, not the quarter. i understood it the first time. Whatever, i ran 16.1 @86mph in the 1/4 in my 89crx si, stock rims, shitty tires, intake, header, stock exhaust. My 60ft times were 2.5 and such, so i suck at launching, especially on these tires.

neuspeedescort 03-18-2003 12:10 AM

Re:WHAT times are YOU running?

y49crxsi - man once you get traction you will be a low 15 car. the time is what i was running on no traction. 16.1-16.3 at 87mph. you will be happy with traction trust me. ;D

not a usual setup but.....atleast i didn't buy a kit so it's homemade. ;)

1987 Mazda RX-7
19PSI
13BT, Extended/Extreme Street Port
T04B 60-1 .60/1.115
(soon to be T66) HKS undivided manifold/TiAl 45MM.
bfgood rich d.o.t. drag radials
stock LSD, stock drivetrain, (redline tranny oil),
ACT Xtreme Pressure plate, 4 puck
microtech ems/datalogger
720cc primary injectors/1600cc secondaries

no power steering, no a/c, no emmissions. lightweight.

11.879@119MPH
with 2.100 60'

11s and 10s for A/R running really rich.

looks like i'm about 400HP@wheels.

Re:WHAT times are YOU running?

o yeah, since homemade is a cheap way to boost, everything i did to my RX-7 cost including the car is under 7k, so that's pretty cheap for a 11SEC car soon to be 10 sec :fingers cross:

new z06 corvette runs about high 12s and cost way over 40k so this makes me a cheapo!
