How do I know what size turbo to go with?

I have the basic understanding, that bigger turbos are better for higher hp, but lag more, and smaller turbos spool faster but have less high end hp..


What should I go with, in my LS hatch?

 

A goal of 400 hp, Daily driven, stock motor, tuned with Hondata, weekend drags.

 

Anyone?

 

You aren't going to see 400hp on a stock motor for long methinks.

 

400hp on a stock block...that happens often

Ummmm .63 T3/t4 or you can buy into the H-T craze and get a precision sc-61

either of those turbos should be good for 400hp

 

I didn't say it wasn't done. I'm just wondering how long the engine last driven daily. Maybe it is just because I'm from sohc-land where doubling your horsepower is really pushing it on stock internals. I know the b-series rods are stronger, but the cylinder walls aren't, and I didn't know the rods/pistons where THAT much stronger, especially on a lowly LS. 400 whp is more than tripling the output, and even 400 crank horses is close to tripling it. It just seems like asking alot of a stock block, but I'll admit, tho, I know very little about the limits of the B.

 

Well I am a complete newbie.. as you can see.. so I am just shooting out what I know..
