Default What rods & pistons ?

I'm finally boosted. I pulled a 13.6@ 100mph (need more traction). I'm running a stock LS with a T25 at 10psi in a 93' hatch. I'm wondering if anyone knows a good rod and piston combo for more boost and how much boost will they take. Anyone have a certain preference of manufactures?

just go budget, even the low end forged rods are pretty damn strong.

tunertoys rods from tunertoys.com and snag some JE's or something.

tuner toys rods are very nice for the price and yes, they come with the arp 2000 7/16 bolts i believe, just like eagles, also, yeah, i believe you have to notch d series blocks for them. in my opinion wiseco pistons are the best out of all the major brands, and they're one of the cheapest.

Agreed......D-series blocks need to be notched, but B-series do not, so to answer your question, no you would not need to notch your block to use the tuner toys rods

then how come on the tuner toys web site it says they come with arp 9mm 8740 rod bolts? now granted they are better then stock LS 8mm bolts but they arent the 3/8" arp pro 2000 bolts that the eagles have.

stock LS/D series = 8mm, vtec = 9mm, tunertoys = 9mm 8740, ARP LS bolts = 8mm 8740, arp vtec 9mm arp 2k eagle anything bolts = 3/8" arp 2k bolts

ok so the 3/8" bolts are roughly .5mm larger in diameter than the 9mm bolts and the difference in strength is roughly 30k psi tensile strength (arp 2k's are stronger by about 20% AND .5mm larger)

what it boils down to though is that the rod bolts are still WAY stronger than stock LS rod bolts just slightly smaller and slightly weaker than the pro's.
