Re:What PSI?
What was the problem? Can't you just go out and buy a spare one off of ebay and try and work it over? I'm not going to doubt his ability, but what was the issue that is specific to your car?

Re:What PSI?
It's possible to chip his 88 Integra ECU, but for that series of ECU's it doesn't have an external EPROM. SO, you would have to desolder the microprocessor, then solder in a daughter board, then resolder the EEPROM, IC, Jumpers, and microprocessor on top of that board.
Cliff notes: too much of a friggin hassle :P |
Re:What PSI?
11-12psi is doable with some good fuel management. 10 is safe for sure.
|
Re:What PSI?
blah, 88 integra.
yeah that sounds like a pain in the ass, um pick up a spare ecu for cheap and start experimenting with the soldering gun tegunderpressure. Don't forget to invest in some desoldering braid (solder wick). Sounds like a solder mess that I would get into for fun. |
Re:What PSI?
I dont know the first thing about ECUs.
So considering I am running the hack w/ a BTM would you run 8,9, or 10lbs? I really, really dont want to blow this motor. Also, would -35 for idle, and -30 across the board be plenty rich, until I can get it tuned? And I dont need to worry about high/low crossover points do I? |
Re:What PSI?
woah you will be runin hella rich. check this out mang.
1-3k =-43 4k= -38 5k to 9k =-36 then set your btm to about .25 or .5 dgrees retard and you should be fine up to 9-10psi.IMO you dont even need a btm for 10psi, but just to be safe. leave your crossovers at 98/99% |
Re:What PSI?
How certain are you of those points? I dont mean to question your knowledge but I just dont want to mess up my motor.
The least retard I can do with the BTM is 1 degree per PSI. What do the crossover points mean? So, 98% would be the low settings and 99% would be the high, correct? |
Re:What PSI?
Also, do I need a high flow fuel pump?
|
Re:What PSI?
IMO, I would say no to the fuel pump for 10 psi.
But U'll need a boost controller to over ride the stock setting for the internal wastegate. I would suggest U go Electronic, to compensate for spiking in the pressure. B4 a fuel pump, I would get a boost sensitive fuel regulator. Aeromotive or AEM. |

Also, why does he need a boost sensitive fuel regulator, i've never heard of anyone using/needing one of these, what exactly does it do/prevent. |
