Default what problems have you experienced with your motor after boost?

Fixing to run .5 bar (7.25 psi) on a 1994 GSR with 111K miles. Only thing left for me to do is replace the timing belt and water pump.

Wondering if you guys with higher mileage have experienced difficulties with your stock internals after boosting? What should I look out for after putting the turbo on? Is this ok to drive 20 miles on every day to go to college?

Hey man, you have the same car I do ! My 94 GSR responded very well to boost. I've been running about 6psi (more at the track ) for about a year now and have really had no problems at all. The only problems the car has are a minor oil leak around the cam seals/vtec selenoid (don't think there's any antifreeze there, I hope!) that may or may not be there do to boost, and the clutch is beginning to be questionable, although after a few runs at the track, it actually seems to grip tighter. Now, my car did have 72k miles on it when I did this (82k now), so it was slightly "newer" than yours. However, a fellow HMT guy Todd (my buddy) has a 94 GSR that he turbocharged a while ago and it has 150k on it. We took his car to the dyno last weekend and he put down 248hp at about 9psi on all original stock internals! Not bad. I just recently checked my compression and it is at 220psi across the board. This is one thing you may want to do before you boost, but chances are, if your car still runs fine, it will handle the moderate boost amount you're talking about. As far as being a daily driver, Todd and I both use our cars often. I believe his IS his daily driver, while I drive mine probably several times a week. If your setup is done right (i.e. keep at least one cooling fan, keep boost moderate like under maybe 9psi, and have good fuel management) you should have few problems using your car daily. If you have any other questions, especially about setup (I'm falling in love with Uberdata!), let me know.

uberdata...i am torn between both uberdata and hondata. Hondata has a bigger user base and it is real easy to find a hondata tuner down here.

Uberdata...it is free but i dont know where to go to tune and I hope it is as good as hondata.

i would over start to over heat after a few hard runs but it would go down again shortly after. I had my d15b7 boosted at 8-11 psi for about 3 months then i sold the car and it was running strong but no real major problems like detonation...

shiznit!!! I don't want this thread to get off base, but Uberdata rocks! I am new to tuning (like 2 months) and I spent $106 on a burner and the chipping stuff and was able to burn a basemap with 440's at 6psi easily! Need to dyno again to get AF right, but 207whp at 6 psi with AFR below 10 above 6k was not all that bad I thought. Todd was new to tuning too, and in an hour and a half on the dyno, he got up to 248whp with AFR right about 12 across the board using his own knowledge and my burner!
