hy35f2t 07-08-2009 12:54 PM

Have to find out what its good for first if its to big for a 408w im going to build.

ptours99 07-08-2009 09:35 PM

this turbo is made for 950-1100 cfm.it's for a 12-14 litre detroit diesel'it doesn't support an early spool.way to much lag.

hy35f2t 07-08-2009 09:36 PM

damn so its useless even on a bigblock v8?

well calculate the cfm and see if turbo supports it,see the .95 a/r is set up for mid range so no early spool but on a race motor it might be great.

Im copying this build
dyno day 20 psi video part one - Car Videos on StreetFire
figure i go with a 383 windsor i can rev it higher which obviously seems to do better then to have a low reving bigger cubic inch motor.Although his is a gt47r what mm would my turbo be about?Or can i just pull the housing off and measure it?

Just wish i could find someone running this turbo. Its a t6 inlet.

well you said it's from a detroit diesel and i just happen to own one, although my turbo is slightly different,it's a garrett and for a 12.7 litre it flows 950 cfm.

i don't know but what ican tell you is that these turbos will never be set up for early spool of any kind cuz big diesels have between 1300 1800 lbs of tq,got to save the driveline on the low side see what i mean.
