i have a 1992 Geo Storm Gsi 1.8l and... yes i know its Geo lol but the engine is made by Lotus. and it comes stock with 140Hp and 120Tq (Crank) and it comes with my geo Storm. my engines comes turboed but only in the Impulse and the Lotu si was wondering how much boost can do before i change mt pistons!

 

hook up a good boost gauge. throw a big turbo on it with no wastegate. and remember how much boost it took before you see pistons flying threw the hood. then......you know

1)what is your comp? and what feul are you using?
2)Then how much feul cn your injectors and pump supply and do you have a intercooler?

Theres your biggest limiting factor.

Lotus has never made an engine worth a ----.

If you do pursue this, start thinking outside the box. Megasquirt is your friend. Use parts from other oem turbo cars. Make ---- work.

Go find the turbo Impulse forum man. I know there is one, or look up turbo impulse or turbo Geo on CarDomain. I've seen builds of the engine, I BELIEVE, you are referring to, and it seemed to me some of those people were definitely getting alot of power out of those cars.

 

my compression is 9.7 my stock injectors are 222 and the fuel i will start to use it premium and i have a inercooler

i thought the head was designed by lotus, & also the suspension was tuned by them, or some ----, ohwell, GL on the build, google search any line about your build for about a week, you should come across some info
