My first time at a Junkyard I looked at some mitsu's and saabs after I finished filling all my pocktes with ---- for my teggy. I know nothing about either car, but I've heard 450's reffered to as "blue tops" so I jacked some. What kind of distinguishing marks are there on the injectore to tell whether I got 450's or some random ---- injectors? All I know is that they came out of a dsm and they have blue tops.

Secodnly I spent all day trying to rip off a ------- a turbo off a saab and oculdnt do it. I think it was an old 900. Anyways, the turbo was a garret .42 a/r. The sunovabitch had one bolt left connected to the DP and I couldnt get at it, really pissed me off I had to leave and let some ------ steal it. Anyways, are the .42 a/r garrets of the variety thats worth snatching or should I keep an eye out for the .48s and .60 and so on?

I'm new to the whole junkyard expoerience, but aside from the multitudes of coloureds I had an awesome time.

Well, for one they the injectors in question have a blue top to them. Second, you can only find em in 1st gen turbo eclipses with manual trans i believe. 2nd gen may have em as well(not sure), but i know 95+ don't have them.

Anyways, Illoked over the injectors more carefully...they are blue on top, black body, green tip. Numbers are MDH275 and INP-065 on opposite sides. So...450's?

 

2nd Gens are black tops and are still 450s in manual turbo DSMs.

for the most part, yes. You could try to sell em to some N/A kids. The like the smaller injectors that are still an upgrade from stock sometimes.

All turbos are worth taking, so long as they are not asking like $75 for it at the yard.

 

I had a local junkyard around here try to charge me 150 for a 14b...and it was hanging on by a few bolts!!!
