What the hell could be wrong????

Hey guys this is the weirdest thing. Today I went to go and mess
with my car to hide a few Megasquirt wires to make it look nice.
I get in the car ready to tune a little on the road and it cranks then
dies, try it again and all the lights just go out?!?!?! WTF I click the key
to the on position and nothing no clock lights even the horn doesnt work
anymore. Now when I click on the hazzard lights the relay starts to make
a buzzing sound, but when I click the key switch to on it stops the buzzing
but still no power anywhere. I checked all the fuses and everything checks
out fine, what the hell could be going on here???
Please help I'm stuck and I've been waiting to drive the car for like 7 months
now :'(
PS It's an 88' corolla FX16
Stock ecu is totally gone, but the car still started a couple of days ago.
PayPal $10 to whoever figures out the problem :)
Thanx again

check all your fusible links?

Re: What the hell could be wrong????

Is that the positive wire that comes of the battery??? If so ya fuses are good.
The hazard lights relay gets voltage and stuff, I just cant imagine why it's doing
this.

Re: What the hell could be wrong????

you said you moved the wires.... could it be that a wire came loose?? are any of the wires soldered? if so check the connection of those wires. just do a continunity check of your connections

Re: What the hell could be wrong????

Only moved little wires that go to my megasquirt, nothing is loose either. Could the
key switch maybe have taken a ----???

break out the multimeter

Re: What the hell could be wrong????

Ok here we go measuring from the starter, with when the key is off it shows 12v, on AC it
goes to 2.5v and on ON it goes to 1.5v.
Does this indicate a blown relay or fuse somewhere???

something is grounding out somewhere

Re: What the hell could be wrong????

Would you happen to know any easy ways of finding the spot thats grounding???
Besides the multimeter???
You dont think maybe the kkey switch itself is bad do you???

Switching to AC voltage is useless in this situation. Check your voltage drops across your power cables, and make sure your battery isn't fubar'd.

Re: What the hell could be wrong????

make sure there isn't massive corrosion on the battery terminals, when they corrode the put resistance on the wire and it won't get any power, I found that out last winter the hard way ;)
