^^^ sort of, the turbo(fan) is spining at a high rpm forcing air into the cylinders, you slam the throttle closed to shift or stop, the turbo is still spining but now there is no place for the air(boost) to go, backing up in the turbo , kinda like tring to ---- with your underware on. Hard on turbo bearings and then it takes longer to spool the turbo up again cuz your starting over so you get more turbo lag. The blow of valve opens and exhasts some preshure so the turbo keeps spining eliminating surge. Hope this helps I am not good at explaining ----
this isnt tooo off topic but I had a 1g bov and it stayed open at idle and car would die (MAF sensor car)
well I did the check valve over the bov and now I get cmpressor surge only when redlinging 100% throttle and then shifting... if I do partial throttle to a little under redlien 1K under or so itll still bov... im guessing the bov is restricting too much...
SOOO what bov will definately stay closed under vacume and open up when needed and still release enuff air!?
