Technicly, no. For him to run 8psi and below the factory map sensor is adequate (honda map sensors can read up to 11.76psi). There is another trick I had been reading about...using a 2.5 bar map sensor, 450cc injectors, and the vafc. Using a setting of 15 in and 15 out gives you the scale for a 2.5 bar sensor, and supposedly works quite well, but this is according to some on H-T. I'm not exactly sure how badly the timing gets messed with, it was one thing I don't think was mentioned. :P

Yeah you don't need a map sensor. I ran turboedit on my car for about a year and its all factored in the program. I ran the same turbo and pretty much the same setup on my car except I had 1.5" charge pipes on the hot side. I think thats what was keeping my top end at only 160 hp. It will be pretty fast. If you think that 8 psi will be a "little" more power, its more than enough.

Im boosting my third project in 2 months or so. 98 ex civic. Took me a whole 10 minutes to obd2 to obd1 conversion not including the basemap which took 15 minutes.

yeah but i've never actually put my hands on converting fro obd2 to obd1 yet and i just dont like messing with the electronics side of car modding. Everything understood and will see if the gf is still down to put the setup on...otherwise i'm snatching her IC lol

all you do to convert to obd1 is buy teh obd1 ecu and a wiring harness and get with some one and get a base map and then hook up with a tuner but you cant drive the car on the base map. its going to be a nice setup. sounds like my first one. i started at 8 lbs on a 42 48 and bumped it up to 15 withen the week lol. d16y8s are stought. so fatr you got everything goin good. as for the fuel pump i made 220 whp on a mustang dyno before we started having problems with the fuel pump. so you will be good.
