Default What to do with the Catalytic converter

My turbo is almost done now, thanks to HMT, just mising the damn oil line feed. But now, I am making myself a custom certerline and was wondering what you suggest to do with or for the cat converter. It's very important to understand that here in Montreal, we HAVE to HAVE a Cat converter. Cops hang around with their supid little scanner and if they detect your car emission too polluting, they give no chance, they tow the car right away (especially when they look underneath and see no cat !) My engine b18b on 92HB turbo t25, downpipe 2.5, actualy center line, 2-1/4 (intergra.. is it ??)

Thanks

Buy a Universal CAT from CATCO at Summit...the cheapest are the 3 inch Diameter ones.

well your car is obd2 so if you put a test pipe in you would have to put a resister in the second o2 senser wire so that it would read a diffent signal than the front o2

Beau

ps this has never been tested just a therey

if you got an OBD2 ecu, you dont wanna be similating your O2 sensor. it is needed for closed-loop air/fuel tuning by your ECU and the voltage is constantly changing to compensate for non-WOT driving. if you did however need to remove it, you would need to tune your closed-loop air/fuel maps yourself which takes lots of dyno tune time to do right, and lots of $$$ for the management electronics.

no, OBD2 cars have 2 oxygen sensors, the primary one controls A/F in open loop, its the one you can usually see in the exhaust manifold, the secondary one resides downstream of the cat, and just tells the ecu if the cat is working. so no cat=cel unless you simulate the output of the seconday sensor. keep in mind that youll need to leave the heater wires plugged in or use a resistor to also simulate the heater on the sensor, because this will also thro a cel if the heater circuit is not "seen" by the ecu. isnt OBD2 fun?

Since i put my test pipe I'd had the CEL(Check Engine Lght, just in case you don't get it), and the car runs like ---- when it is on. Sometimes I unplug the battery a few minutes to clear the ECU, and then I can run the car better but just for like a day, then the light comes back on.
Is there actually a way of fixing this? Will an after market High Flow Cat work? I'm also working on swapping the Ecu for a 95 SOHC Vtec OBD1 ecu, I have the wiring and everything, Has anyone done this before in their car?
BTW I drive a 97 EX coupe D16Y8
Thanks

o2 simulator... if you remove the cat in a obd2 system you will get a CEL

I have always wondered if you could put the 02 on the manifold and the secondary one way downstream of the turbo if you would still get it?
