What can I use to make a gasket for the hot side of my turbo?

I've checked toyota, they can't source me the gasket i need because the CT-12 was only available on JDM Supra's.
I just need to know what the best thing for it is. (i.e what gauge steel)

Downpipe gasket? You don't need one.

Probably not, but i'd like to put one in for peace of mind. I know factory turbo applications come with downpipe gaskets installed, so i figure there has to be a purpose for it.
