Default What can i ditch when on a budget?

Hallo,

when i'am on a budget and don't want to buy a used or low quality turbo to bring my budget down, what do you think is worth to be ditched to keep the price low.

Engine will be a B16A2 and my friend (it's his setup) isn't sure about the power goal until now. it's more to see what we can get from the money and look how much we will get.

out thoughts are about ditching the stronger clutch and maybe keep the stock exhaust system (maybe with mods if this helps a bit)

but what do you think? is it worth or are the power loss (or in case of the cluch the sliping) that bad that it would be better to go with a shitty turbo/manifold combination then without a exhaust system/clutch?

hope to get some ideas...

are there some experiences, how much a stock exhaust will cost in hp against a (let's say 76mm exhaust system incl. DP) when doing something like 13-14psi on that engine?

i know it's also depends on the turbo but a general figure would help making the decision...

Thanks so far...

clutch from mike at lsd or a egay one if you wanna risk it, go 6 puck unprung
exhaust ?? you pussies, wideopen down pipe or have it dump under the shift linkages
just by a 100 dollar cdm cast manifold from donald in the f.s. section
find a good used turbo in a junkyard from a friend or online if its reliable seller

now post ****

smokey joe at your local muffler shop is your friend. Combine that with a nice magnaflow off summit or something, and you can not be a douche for probably 150-200 bucks.

if you want a good, reliable machine, you dont want to skimp on anything.

just take your time and build it right

you dont need a clutch if you stay around 5-7 psi and you could just keep the stock exhaust. it wont make as much power, but it will still be fun.

i just helped a friend of mine with a 99si and his clutch was fine till we went up to 10psi
