what is this about o2 housings?
do i need an o2 housing for a civic? i thought the o2 housing was specifically for eclipses because the o2 housing hooks up between the turbo exhaust outlet and the downpipe. can anyone clear this up for me?
thanx in advance

The o2 housing also called downpipe/collector housing, is needed on each setup, or you can just use a flange, and weld a downpipe directly off of it, what kinda turbo are we talking?

Re:what is this about o2 housings?
so do i need an o2 housing? i was thinking that i could just custom fab a downpipe that go from the exhaust pipe straight to the turbo outlet. i didnt know i needed a separate piece. is there some kind of sensor that goes into the o2 housing? if there is...why couldnt i just drill a hole in the downpipe and thread the sensor directly into the downpipe? im just trying to figure out what exactly is the purpose of the o2 housing.

You can put your O2 sensor bung in the "o2/downpipe/collector housing" If you plan on fabricating your own, for say using your own flange
DSM outlet flange (roadraceengineering.com)
then make a collector off that plate for your downpipe
If you are using the HF manifold you can put a o2 sensor up top in the factory location. And if you are running obd2, you can put the secondary o2 after the cat. You can put o2's anywhere on that pipe if you want too..
