I snagged my turbo today off of a saab. its a t3 and on the inlet pipe on the compressor, the one the air enters the turbo, there was some oil, I dont see how it could get that far. but is this bad? I still need to take it apart. and check the internals. thanks ahead for all of your imput.

Could come from crank ventilation. If the engine you got that turbo from had worn piston rings a lot of oil can come from the crank ventilation. To be sure you could check if the ic on that Saab also has a lot of oil in it.

its because mainly its from a saab, saabs have this oil thing where there is about an 1/8 of a qaurt of oil right before the air filter, i forget what they call it like wet filtering or something gay, if you want i can take a pic off of my saab 900 turbo (now x turbo) and show you.

well I guess I pulled a bad turbo. I opened it up and the exhaust housing is cracked and ghey inside, but its not cracked all the way through. it doesn't touch the fins when you move the shaft around. but it make a dirty porno sound. I guess its going to be a paperwheight now. unless one of you have a t3 housing that you want to sell?
